Which book YOU like is often a personal choice. But books are THE BEST source of knowledge (after you’re lecturer of course heh heh heh!)

The top three books are the main textbooks. Try and get all three of you can, but at least have two of them. Having just one textbook isn’t very good (you will narrow your perspective of the subject), but if you can only have one book, I would recommend the ‘Hodder’ or ‘Facer’ book, and not the ‘Pearson’ book (it’s too simple / not challenging).

The other books 2nd row onwards are good for revision. They not good learning books i.e. you should not rely on a revision book in place of a textbook, because although revision books are usually excellent at giving key things you need to know and in a very short space, they are usually very poor at explaining things. The explaining bit is for a textbook. Although I would say there is one exception… The rich brown/orange book by Richard Parsons can act as a text book AND a revision book. I think this book is very good indeed.
