I found this ‘Teachers Pack” on Green Chem.

Don’t let the ‘teacher‘ bit put you off! The booklet is good for students! (although I would argue about some of the global warming ‘evidence’ part). It will give you good exposure to Green Chem in a simple and easy to understand way. It’s published by the UK Royal Society of Chemistry.

HI sir,

1) how do we draw the dot&cross diagram for C0 (carbon monoxide)? the ans scheme hr is too weird.

2) Suggest why ‘use of micromaves radiation is considered greener …..”

i understood that its more effective to use microwaves instead of electric heater because it prevents and reduces lost of heat energy, what else sir .

Is there no answer-scheme for a past years paper that gives accepted answers to this? or the books? That’s probably the best wat to hunt for these kinds of answers.

Here’s one: By generation of particular wavelengths of IR energy, specific molecules can irradiated hence heated (if you know the energy in terms of the IR wavelength of the specific bonds in the molecule you want to heat) – but of course the heat will eventually spread out.

1) it involves arrows (wich I tink dative covalent) of the electrons pair in the dot-and cross diagram ,not sure if thats valid.,

dot cross diagram for CO at top of the page.

Thanks for CO stuffs sir, Yeap so its indeed dative covalent, and no need to show it in dot and cross. OK thanks

*i meant the arrow in dative covalent

For dot and cross diagram, no, no need to show it.
But if asked HOW it’s formed, then very advisable to do so.

danke
